Horowitz Announces “Stop the Jihad on Campus Week”

From my former colleague, Eli Clifton:

David Horowitz is continuing his crusade against alleged “left wing bias” on college campuses with an “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week part III“. The event, scheduled to take place October 13-17, has the primary objective of defunding the Muslim Student Association (MSA).

The week, also referred to as the “Stop the Jihad on Campus Week,” aims to, “publicize the ties between the Muslim Student Association and the Muslim Brotherhood — godfather organization of al-Qaeda and Hamas — and begin a movement to defund the MSA for misrepresenting its agendas and obstructing free speech on select campuses.”

We’ve previously discussed Horowitz’s campus campaigns on this blog (here, here, and here) but the latest incarnation of “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week” reaches new levels of provocation by demanding that the MSA be called to account for refusing to repudiate a “Hadith of Hate” and leading a “stealth Jihad” on college campuses.

The campaign claims that over 150 college campuses will take part in the “David Horowitz Freedom Center”-sponsored week, but Horowitz’s website lists only 27 universities where events will take place.

Horowitz, a 60s and 70s campus radical at Berkeley, underwent a transformation after a 1974 incident in which a close friend was murdered by members of the Black Panthers. Horowitz, who had lent support to Panther leader Huey P. Newton, became an outspoken critic of the Left.

Horowitz recently appeared on Al-Jazeera, in part to promote his latest campus crusade. If his writings on the internet don’t appropriately convey his anger, belligerence and intolerance, then his Al-Jazeera segment more than accomplishes the job.
